An anguished Maria, who is the maiden of the Snowpoint Temple, arrives to tell Paul and Brandon who had just finished their battle that something terrible has happened at the temple. So Ash, Brandon, and makes haste and immediately leaves for the temple. On their journey Brandon narrates to Ash and others travelling with him the legend of Regigigas and the Snowpoint Temple, and how Regigigas does exist. On their arrival at the Snowpoint Temple, they come across the Pokemon Hunter J, who also came to ensnare Regigigas. When Ash and the others try to stop J from reawakening the Colossal Pokemon, they face a huge hurdle in the form of a hoard of Metang and Skarmory which actually belongs to J’s henchmen. But all their efforts go in vain when J orders her Salamence to destroy the pillars of rock, ice, and steel. It finally attacks the blue orb which leads to the reawakening of Regigigas.

Regigigas, after being disturbed in its sleeps unleashes it wrath uses its Hyper Beam to collapse the temple. So J is unable to capture it. Brandon seeing an opportunity decides to capture Regigigas himself, so he attacks it with Regirock, Regice, and Registeel, all at the same time. But Regigigas turns the table by using its Confuse Ray to take control of the three Legendary Golems. It then continues the assault. Now the onus in on Ash to stop Regigigas before it reaches the town. He also has to prevent J from getting his hands on Regigigas.
