Is Pokeman Anime Series Really Diminishing?

Submitted on August 1, 2009 2 Comments

The cartoon series “Pokemon” do exist but with popularity of moderate level even after the opinion of many that show is stale which have nothing new in its storyline and large number of “Pocket Monsters”,

Amazingly this anime series which is over-saturated has still many young fans following especially those who have Pokemon card or video game. With time those who grew up with the cartoon series ‘Pokemon’ stopped watching the series but the children who were ready coming from behind the older crowd start watching it thereby maintaining the popularity of the series what so ever little it may be.

The show was not harmed too much when removed from “Kids WB” but series getting a slot on “Cartoon Network” has given enough of energy to live till the viewers really become sick of this cartoon series. Recently Cartoon Network announced a new television movie “Pokemon” movie that will be shown on its channel.

But what should be the purpose of such series surviving, it is perhaps to make few more dollars finally or to bring in cash flow into the series that is comparable to “American Idol” for kids. Its not that, show is poor but how many times the viewers can enjoy the repetitive format of the show with very little change. There is however some parents who are comfortable with such shows for their children as there is not much change in the format of the show.

The main characters in the series have slightly changed and did the voices but the scenery is almost the same. The “Pocket Monster” are also same with different abilities and the storyline where there is journey and battle done in tandem has become too old.

Such a thought has been damaging to the imagination of viewers and also stale to animated entertainment. The Pokemon has got lesser life left with new series on Nickelodeon, Cartoon Network or Disney. Dragonball Z has faded long ago due to dip in excitement and popularity. Pokemon is moving in the similar direction. Catch them before it’s gone.

i dont think its diminishing at all! Ive watched the series since i can remember (i am 13) and i have enjoyed it the whole time. i like the slightly different voices and the way that the main characters have changed as well. (by the way i love dragonball z as well. it may have got unpopular some time ago but thats because it all went quite retarded when they made gohan practically the main character… and a geek.)
i think that this post may be slightly biased in the way that the writer has put more good things in than bad.
last of all- POKEMON ROCKS THE BLOOMOIN’ WORL!!!! SO :p

It’s become so sterile, bland, and campy it’s become unwatchable.

Caitlin, do you think that’s because there’s just less good things to write about?
