After Maxell’s original “blown away guy” commercial for cassette tapes, Maxell is now gearing up to make way to a new line of Pokemon motif alkaline batteries. These batteries are proven to be more child-friendly for it features a new zinc alloy casing which is known to be more effective when it comes to reducing leaks.

Hitachi Maxell Inc., the company’s name, actually came from their first product “maximum capacity dry cell” batteries. Maxell started at around 1960 and decided to sell cassette tapes later on. And now, Maxell is finally going back to the product which started everything: batteries.

The schedule for its release is on May 25, 2010 where the pocket monsters of both the Diamond and the Pearl motif have two sizes: AA and AAA.

Pikachu is expected to spearhead the debut of the product. Pikachu along with other 23 Pokemon characters will be presenting us different kinds of battery-using experience. These Pokemons are placed in the casing as the battery’s design.

The packaging for this new Maxell product would either be a cardboard-backed blister pack of four batteries each or a shrink-wrapped pack with eight batteries inside. Kids were also given a chance to collect their favorite Pokemons for every pack comes with a sticker of one of the seven collectible Pokemon stickers.
